Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
In my role I study at college every few months for a week to work towards becoming a chartered accountant with the ICAEW qualifications. In my day-to-day role, I work in a team, auditing Insurance Businesses. I complete sampling, testing, walkthroughs and much more. We have catch ups as a team and good contact with the client frequently.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy it, although it can be hard work at times, I have met so many fantastic people and made some great friends through EY and their apprenticeship scheme. The skills I have learnt will always be used in the future.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have hugely developed my knowledge and my excel skills as well as building my confidence and communication skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
It is well organised. We have a buddy which we were able to talk to before starting our role in the business, usually someone who has been at the business for a year and is a similar age, so it's great to be able to contact that informally. We also have a counsellor and student coach in which we are able to contact them about mental health or any problems with work and exams.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
As stated in question 4, we have many points of contact.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
We attend college and the teachers at the training provider are great and we are able to contact them when we need help.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
My qualification so far has given me a basic understanding of the auditing world and how the businesses are ran. What I have learnt in college has definitely helped in my work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, there are so many societies for almost anything you could think of, lots of socials, either team or whole company or industry, its great.
