Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My day-to-day at the moment is on placements in other departments across the production line. Mainly, shadowing and supporting associates at the moment and getting hands on where i can.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
In terms of my work life it is brilliant and I have no complaints. On the educational side I do not find it as enjoyable as i thought i would

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes, I am confident to install parts of the car, complete processes unattended, carry out part iD checks, complete problem solving sheets and have learned a lot about the structure and how the line operates

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
At work structure is great no inconsistencies all well planned very early on, At university there is little to no organisation or structure and the expectations are very unclear.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Plenty, if I need something I am more than confident I would be able to find someone that is able to help.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
There is support available to me however, I wouldn't necessarily feel as though anything is going to be done to help the situation as much as it could.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
At this point in time it is hard to see how it helps me perform better due to the fact that I have not yet spent any considerable time with my home department as I have been on placement. But on placement it is very useful.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
I get involved with lots of social activities, site visits, external projects and any extra internal activities e.g. tours, photoshoots.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BMW Group UK to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Rolls-Royce first of all looks after their apprentices. I feel as though there is space to learn and develop your skills in an extremely safe and more importantly interesting environment. There are endless opportunities to get involved in outside of your 9-5 that allow you to make important connections.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group UK?
Work hard, know the company values and history, be yourself and understand a bit about your role before you have the interview. Also, show that you are interested and don't just act like you are (they can tell). Most important have fun
