I currently work as a Data Scientist within the Audit capability. Our team focuses on working with different Audit teams and solve their common problems using Data Science & AI techniques. My day to day role involves writing code to develop machine learning models to help in building the overall product.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I do enjoy my program a lot. I am happy working with many different stakeholders and it is exciting to be learning and working with the latest AI models and using them to solve various problems for the Auditors. On a daily basis there is lot of learning and no 2 day feels like the same.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt many technical skills mostly involving python and many frameworks like pandas and numpy etc. I have also learnt other skills like data cleaning and modification to build ML models and using them for predictive analytics.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The work side of the programme is well structured. however, I am not very happy with the training provider Multiverse and most of the content is taught online, it is very hard to understand the content as I personally think offline learning is much more helpful. Plus most of the content being taught by multiverse is irrelevant to my job role. I also personally think more experienced tutors can be hired to teach people.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

my team at KPMG is very friendly and supporting when working towards my qualification. I have a performance manager who I catch up with very month and I am able to discuss my concerns with him. I can always request for more time to complete tasks whenever I feel overwhelmed and my project manager ensures I am not given tasks more than I could handle.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I personally don't feel well supported by Multiverse. The structure of the programme is very confusing and difficult to understand. Some of the lectures were not very good and it doesn't feel interactive and engaging most of the times. Plus the modules that are provided in the multiverse.io about different topics were very basic and most of times I have to look for external resources to better my understanding on the topic.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

At the moment the course content on the qualification is not very helpful in my job role and I sometimes feel it as if its a additional burden.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are a lot of networks within KPMG. I have personally joined the KPMG Hindu Network and the Clara Social Committee and so far it has been enjoyable

Why?
It is a huge organisation with diverse people, working in KPMG has given me a lot of exposure and helped me develop not only technical skills but also soft skills like communication, stakeholder management etc.

Read about KPMG from various sources and make sure you have a good understanding of their operations and what particularly stood out to you.
