Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role is incredibly hybrid, as I work within a smaller division within a large company. The job from day one has required collaboration, resilience, and being proactive daily. Day-to-day, I am exposed to a wide range of tasks across Marketing, without being too specialized. I lead and am part of brainstorming meetings, trade meetings and project management. I support a team of 4 with project execution, and problem-solving. My tasks include, budget planning for Marketing, tracking spend performance, initiating campaigns and go-lives, working with various team to execute and create content for our customers and collaboration with the wider team.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoyed it - the learning tools were great and I felt for my position a lot of the learning was easily applied. I enjoyed the independent and practical learning more vs the club topicanas, and online Teams sessions.
For me, I felt the timing wasn't frequent enough and sometimes I felt some of the sessions didn't have enough substance to make it valuable within my workday - where I could've been doing more practical and on the job work.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes, I have learnt a wide range of skills from the course and have developed others. Key ones will have to be change management, resilience, finance & governance and influence. All have been key parts to my job development as well as my learning - as it has supported further networking within the business and execution of projects.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
The structure was OK, however what let the organisation down was the order of missions within the course. I think we should of had flexibility on this because some of the missions didn't align with what I was working on at work, which meant learning on the job became difficult at points.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Loads of support from my management - we caught up weekly on my missions and ensured these aligned with what I was working on. Management also created and sort out opportunities for me to boost my learning further. ASOS was a great employer to have during this process thanks to the help within the business and recognition during and post course.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
Right level of support - however more Leadership Sessions 1-1 would've been beneficial. Echoing my previous comments the wider online lectures I felt were not needed and did not provide support when working on my missions - I didn't come out of those with anything valuable.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
My coach supported me with guidance in my work, reflecting on models and how they can be used in my day to day. This was a real help with my on the job hours and applying what I've learnt even further.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
1/5
Team book club - nothing direct to the apprenticeship though.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend ASOS to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Great culture and loads of opportunities to learn. I will be joining another course in September to boost my practical skills in Marketing.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to ASOS?
Be authentic and bring your best self to work. Be ready to collaborate and remember no idea is a bad idea. Through the learning opportunities too at ASOS, I feel a lot can get a lot more out of ASOS rather than just being a job - it's a place where I can develop.
