Metrology Apprentice Review

I work in a metrology lab within rolls royce where my day to day includes doing measurement request which come through the company so this includes aligning the car, using measurement arms such as CNC, Using programs for example polyworks which allow me to do comparisons between CAD and the Part which i have scanned

In my opinion i think that the structure of the programme is very well organised especially with the amount of daily tasks we get, there are also many project which we are able to get on with which we would have to take responsibilities for delivery the project to whoever requested it

Personally i have received a lot of support from my employer especially when it came to moving course within college as i was meant to do another level 2 course within college however i managed to get the support and managed to get moved to the higher level course in engineering

When working towards my qualifications if i do get stuck or need to ask any questions i am able to get support from my training provider who will help me achieve my grades and push me to be able to reach the highest grade possible which is very helpful especially in this new course

The qualification does help me perform better in my role depending on which unit i am working on however there are also many unit which don't relate to what i do with my day to day tasks at work. The unit which are related are very useful to learn.

The reason i would recommend rolls royce motor cars to a friend is because of the environment which is here but mainly the amount of different skills which can be learnt as an apprentice especially during placement as you are able to go to woodshop, leather shop where you can learn a variety of different skills.
