Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Very Variable based on placements, can go from desk based office tasks to practical hands on shop floor experience. plenty of opportunities to learn new skills and to practice what is learnt at university.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
The work side of things is great, can be a little stressful at times but i feel that goes for any job. the Univercity side of things has been a lot more stressful, poor planning and organisation has caused significant stress and has impacted the work/life balance at times

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have been able to develop plenty of existing skills, alongside developing new skills such as High voltage safety, important document writing and some key people skills

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The work side of things is fairly well organised, there is support available within the business however for the most part it is down to the individual apprentice to organize placements etc. the university side of things is very disorganized and has little to no communication.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Employer support is great, time is given to complete university deadlines when needed, and to study for exams. academic support is somewhat lacking for degree level however i feel like this is kind of expected
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
Support form the university is incredibly variable and goes on a per professor basis, some provide support some don't, this year has been particularly poor due to staffing issues at the university
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Provides me a general understanding of fundamental electronic and electrical principles that can be implemented into my job role
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
i don't get involved in them but there is stuff available though
