Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I start the day going through my inbox to check for any tasks that have come through from Healthcare Reoslve which is a team of juniors (trainees, apprentices, litigation assistants) to do tasks like searching for experts and writing letters of instruction, attending conference with counsel. I then do the tasks allocated to me, keeping a time sheet as I go. On Mondays, I have a designated study day during which I do my reading and then attend a two hour workshop
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I love my programme. I think that this option rather than university was better for me to take becuase it meant I could remain in the pattern of work that I had established over my two gap years volunteering with youth. I am enjoying the university side of the apprenticeship and it is coming to a point where I am starting to see the law come to life in my work.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I've been able to develop my organisation skills with the help of my supervisor and I have learned how to type whilst on the phone to take attendance notes!

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
As one of the pioneering firms for legal apprentices, Kennedys have a very structured programme that I believe is helping me to develop in the best way to become a really strong lawyer. We have the healthcare academy which is a four year programme that develops professional and legal skills such as drafting reports, legal research and quantum analysis which I would not have learned about at university. I am seeing the things I am learning on the healthcare academy also appearing in my work which is very exciting.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive good support from my employer. My supervisor is very good at helping me to find work when I need extra, there is a team of supportive juniors in my office who know lots about things that I have had little or no experience with yet and I feel very welcome in my team.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
I feel that BPP could provide better support. I was only allocated 5 hours of ASD support from the DSA and when I have called with a query relating to my apprenticeship such as coursework or changing classes for the week because of work committments, nobody seems to be able to answer my question so I am passed around different lines only to be told that I have the wrong line. The teaching is great but I think BPP could be better
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
My qualification motivates me to keep pushing at work so that hopefully I can get onto the next stage of training and professional development. I love learning about different areas of law and being able to showcase that in portfolios and exams keeps me persevering.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Not at the moment. I recently signed up to be part of the neurodivergence and disability network as a junior lawyer with Autism which I hope I can make a good contribution in
