Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
2/5
Auditing - completing relevant testing on workpapers provided, client meetings to discuss any issues/queries that have I have found - going on site too. Ensuring that a true and fair view is given especially for the establishment of financial statements.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
To a moderate extent - I feel like a better job can be done to make the programme more insightful such as allowing the apprentices more university time especially if they are on the school leavers programme as managing work and studying is a hard balance. As well as this perhaps allowing the apprentices to move into other departments like (tax eg).

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
I have managed to develop certain skills and hope that this does increase to a higher degree where with more experience I can also apply greater skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
It is pretty well organised but I feel like due to hard exams in place for the set qualification not enough study time is granted for the students. Especially from the big jump from a levels to an apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
Moderate extent there potentially could be more that could be provided.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Some training could be longer as the exams are harder - I think more uni days for further depth and understanding and thorough knowledge.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
It does provide me some knowledge through the revision for the exams to then apply into the working world - such as VAT and the principles of VAT returns etc.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
There are some opportunities that I am aware of but do not feel like they are for me personally - perhaps more alternative options in the future could insight me to get involved in.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend KPMG to a friend?
No
Why?
I would recommend this firm for graduates but perhaps for the school leavers programme it is intense to come and work here from school - and really/truly there should be a suitable and sustainable work/life balance.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to KPMG?
Make sure that if the field you want to go into is here and offered then you only join as it is not worthwhile to join for a bit and leave halfway through if you do not fit here, it would be late for other opportunities too such as the uni route.
