Creative Campaign Support Intern Review

I help create the visual assets for internal campaigns; such as banners, pictures, videos, GIFs etc. A lot of my work revolves around editing videos and photoshopping assets for branded campaigns.
I also help with the communications side of campaigns, by creating drafts for emails and slack posts (internal employee network).

I helped with a lot of projects and was given more and more responsibility over time as I developed my video editing and Photoshop skills. I was even given the responsibility to co-manage the communication side of a few projects, which showed a lot of trust and it built my confidence as well as project management skills.

I've learned so much of Adobe's Creative Cloud Apps- like Photoshop, Premiere Pro (for video editing) and After Effects (for creating animations). Oracle provided us with LinkedIn Learning, which helped me go from knowing practically nothing about video editing to being a (almost) whiz at it! It definitely helped that I got so much practice from my work tasks as well.
I also gained a lot of confidence in communicating my ideas to the team and developing my presentation skills.

My manager and mentor were both so helpful and a guiding light, I definitely grew as a person because of them- both professionally and personally. So, I can confidently say that I had quite a lot of support during my internship.

It was very inclusive and open in my experience, there were a lot of virtual social events that helped build connections with people from different regions from across different lines of businesses. There were also many Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) that helped create awareness of diversity within Oracle and also the importance of sustainable activities within the IT industry, such as the Cultural Harmony Network, Oracle Women in Leadership and the Green Team.

It was a very enjoyable and eye-opening experience. I know now what I want to do in the future, career-wise, because I had so many opportunities to connect with and shadow employees from different lines of businesses. My placement exceeded my expectations of what I would learn and how much I would grow, and I believe it was because of the importance that was placed on thoroughly training the interns, showing them the ropes on how a fast-paced company worked in a growing industry. Although, I would have liked for it to be in-person, I understood the restrictions that couldn't make it possible until the last few months.
It was also comforting to have such a large intern cohort, knowing that there are others going through similar experiences as me and who I can go to for anything- even if it was mainly remote, there was a great sense of community amongst the interns.
