Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Speaking to clients who are high net worth individuals, completing trades and networking with others
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
It’s good but the provider is not clear and there is time not used efficiently between modules and the end of level 4/start of level 6. The programme is good but can be disheartening when looking at graduates.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
2/5
How to be progesssional in the workplace, balancing work, study and apprenticeship.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
University of exeter started off unclear on direction and organisation. Now we are in the flow it is okay. There is a lack of flexibility to speed up the process too.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
Line manager is welcoming to ideas to helping the process be as good as possible for myself, but these ideas are not always welcomed by exeter or employer as it is not to their script.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Training provider has many resources available, only downside can be forcing us to attend lectures even if we think time can be better spent for self study.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
It is a great place to start compared to other people my age looking to get a career started in finance.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are but when workload is high it is difficult to prioritise networking and social events.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend UBS to a friend?
Yes
Why?
If you get the role and you are set in a career in finance, UBS is a great place to be and has a wide network to introduce yourself to.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to UBS?
As this is a 4 year programme, make sure you are committed to the course and finance is the career option you would like to pursue. If so, it is a great place to be and I would recommend it to others.
