My role as a deputy hotel manager involves overseeing daily operations across multiple departments, starting from housekeeping reception, bar restaurant in kitchen. I make sure we run a safe and compliant business day to day.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have enjoyed the programme to the extent that I joined a work stream in my region that promotes apprenticeships and supports the apprentices. I have organised career days. And also, I even thought about becoming a lifetime coach once or twice.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed most of my existing skills by going on this apprenticeship. And they have also developed new ones. Some of the new skills that I can say developed are: Running my own duty manager development days based on the workshops I’ve been to during my apprenticeship. How to speak to my team in a better and clearer way. How to deal with and resolve difficult situations.

I think my qualification helped in a way that it prompted a lot of reflection And has made me look more in-depth to sides of the business as I wasn’t fully aware of how they are impacting me in my role
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We do have a lot of social and professional networking events and are usually like to participate. I have valuable insight by going to the events and also sharing and discussing ideas.

Yes
Why?
Because I have worked for nearly 10 years for this company, so must be for a reason. But besides, that , what I love, the most about working, here is the fact that the company promotes diversity and inclusion and also provides equal opportunities.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Whitbread plc?
The advice I would give them would be to wait for their opportunity to come up as it might be sooner than they think.
