Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Helping support children’s learning. Helping the teacher with any jobs within the classroom like printing and trimming ect. Helping with intervention groups to support children with extra learning.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy going in everyday as everyday is different, and includes different things to learn, and help the children learn about. I feel like I’m learning at school all over again!

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I’ve learnt lots of new skills around group interventions and helping younger children to read.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

It’s very organised and has a good structure and plan to be able to follow along with. This helps me with my time management.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a lot of support. Whenever I feel anxious about something I’m able to speak to someone, and I always receive reply’s to messages and emails.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I get a lot of support when working towards my qualifications. I’m always able to reach out to someone and ask for help.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It gives me the knowledge I need to be able to support the children confidently. And also helps me to keep on track of assignments which helps with my time management and organisational skills.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes I’ve recently signed up to Pilates with some other LSA’s. There’s also a school football team if I wanted to play football.

To really think about what you want to do and what your plan is, because you do have to be passionate and want to do the work and learn. Make it count.
