Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My daily Tasks include reconciling spreadsheets, reporting and printing cheques. I have interactions with many areas within the business including customer service agents, Legal and compliance departments, we work closely with the finance department and utilise many of their systems. Outside of the business I Liase with external suppliers
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy my programme because everyone is super friendly, when you start working at Sky they send you down to the HQ in London for a few days to meet other apprentices and they also provide ample opportunities for networking thought the year. The offices are all lovely and have great facilities such as games rooms and subsidised restaurants.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have developed my people skills as in our department is it important to have good interpersonal skills as many other departments come to you for advice and you also have to talk to many other departments for advice. The new skills i have learnt include reporting, quality assurance and Auditing Skills

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My programme is very organized and follows a set structure, we have set days to complete our qualification each week and have regular contact both onsite and virtually with the ladies from the college. We follow a set path to achieve the qualification and can rotate round many areas of the business, we rotate round different teams in our department for a year before moving out of our department into the wider area.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
We receive loads of support from Sky, we have regular drop in calls and learning labs with early careers, and also have really good senior managers and line managers who we can go to for help, no one is unapproachable and you never have to go through anyone to talk to senior leaders within our department and the winder business
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
The college that delivers our qualification has really nice staff who often come onsite to assess our work and also to perform quarterly reviews to make sure we are being supported in the workplace, any adjustments are catered for and the college is very good at setting clear expectations about what is expected of us.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I feel that the qualification is very relevant to what I'm doing and I find it easy to integrate my work with my college and relate my college work to what m doing in the office, most of the units can be directly related to what i'm doing on a given day
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are many events we can get involved in such as the annual Christmas party, regular early careers networking events and also learning labs we can attend, we also occasionally will get to go down south for big milestones in our careers. If you work in London there are also opportunities to network with other companies apprentices such as BBC
