Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
After I completed the bootcamp with the training provider, I moved into Sky Software Engineering Academy where I am now working with other apprentices on a real-world internal tool for Sky which involves full stack web development in an agile environment.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
It's phenomenal, there isn't any other word to describe it. I enjoy every minute of my working day and I look forward to continuing to developing my skills and becoming a competent commercially viable Software Engineer.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I've have learnt (and continue learning) technical skills such as full stack web development which is React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, automated testing (including TDD). More importantly, I've learnt how to write efficient maintainable code and work confidently within an agile environment.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
It is very well structured both with the training provider and with Sky. For me as a software engineer, after you finish the bootcamp with the training provider you move into the Sky Software Engineering academy where I am able to work on real world projects with other apprentices.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
The training provider (Multiverse) is extremely supportive and go above and beyond to make sure each and everyone is on track and enjoying the apprenticeship. There is plenty of people I can go to for bespoke support and now very regular catchups.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
All of the skills that I am learning from the qualification are directly related to my day to day role as an Apprentice Software Engineer.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Sky to a friend?
Yes
Why?
If that friend wanted to work for an awesome and 'fun' company then Sky is the only place I can possibly recommend. The work that I am doing isn't pointless, it's a genuine internal project that is going to have a positive impact on teams at Sky.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Sky?
1. Have a genuine interest in Sky
2. Be open, communicate and collaborative
3. **Very** interested and motivated for the role you're applying for
4. Ask questions
5. Enjoy the process
