Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The first day was a general introduction to banking and finance, it was very collaborative and interactive.
Day 2 was an insight into global markets, we networked with the GM employees and completed a case study.
Day 3 was an insight into technology, we looked at the corporate infrastructure at Nomura.
Day 4 was an insight into IB, we networked with analysts, associates, VPs, EDs and MDs, and completed an IB M&A case study.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
All the potential roles were covered in great depth. The best thing about it is that we were able to speak to people in the industry, even the seniors. This meant we could directly ask what they liked/didn't like about their role which meant we got a real insight into what everyone was doing.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
We were taught how to complete a case study, and our networking skills were greatly enhanced.
They brought iBank in to teach us about the basics of IB and GM and we also had a few soft skills sessions. These consisted of learning about teamwork, collaboration and networking, they were greatly useful.

The company culture was great. All the employees were very open to chats and gave great detail about their roles.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I enjoyed the insight a lot. It was very insightful but I also had a lot of fun while doing it. I really liked speaking to the range of different people they had at Nomura, and finding out the background each person has.
