Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I work in the Global Compliance and Reporting team in Tax we do a wide range of work such as performing tax audits, preparing tax computations and advising clients on tax matters. The work varies on a day to day basis which keeps it exciting and helps me learn constantly.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I am currently enjoying it as I get to constantly learn new things and challenge myself. The programme allows me to meet a wide range of people as well as offer new experiences. Although challenging, I think it is beneficial in building necessary skills that will help me in my career.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt many valuable skills such as analytical skills, financial awareness, tax technical skills and professional communication. There are also other skills such as teamwork from working with different people on various teams, Microsoft Office skills from performing tasks and multitasking skills from balancing work on different projects at once.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
It is very well organised, with a very clear expectation on when different things will occur. It is structured in a way that allows us enough time to complete each stage while still having some less stressful time in between. I find that the timeline allows us to develop and progress in a natural way through our career.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
There are different types of support available to us either through our programme or through our team at work. The team is very aware of the structure of the programme and hence is very understanding of any issues that may arise. There is a good support system to reach out to should we need any help.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
The programme provides adequate support in terms of an apprenticeship coach who looks after your progress throughout the period and whom you have regular chats with to update them on how you are doing. You can raise any issues faced and there will be different resources available to you that you can use.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Learning for each of the papers equips us with technical knowledge in different areas that we are able to apply in our role in many ways. Apart from that, the skills and behaviours that are the foundation of the programme is beneficial in helping us develop professionally to perform better in our respective roles.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are various networks available that we can choose to get involved in. For instance, there are different sports teams such as badminton and netball that play on a regular basis. There are also ethnic networks and women networks that organise different events that we can go to for networking.
