Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Preparation of tax computations and other deliverables in relation to tax compliance.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I enjoy the ability to learn and gain qualifications at the same time as working on complex projects.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
Tax technical skills, computer and program based skills and soft skills such as organization and communication.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
Generally the programme is well structured but there can be miscommunication/lack of from the training provider regarding college dates and information, making it difficult to schedule holidays and prepare in advance.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
There is lots of support available from EY, especially relating to the work. The college side is dependant on how knowledgeable the your team and department is on the ICAS route, but will often go above and beyond to discover the answers.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
The support from BPP and especially ICAS can sometimes be limited and unorganized.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I feel like many of the concepts merge with the work for a collaborative learning experience. However, several topics have little to do with my current work - such as certain audit, modelling and financial reporting topics.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are, such as football, however these can often be tailored more towards particular departments - such as the participants of cross-office football events being selected by audit personnel, so other departments often get excluded.
