Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
working with a team of around 15-20 people to audit a component insurance company by obtaining assurance all accounts show a fair view and are not materially misstated.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
Although my apprenticeship programme has been tough I have enjoyed working with a wide variety of people and travelling to different cities for training. I also enjoy the blend of working from home and the office. My exams are extremely stressful and I feel like they could be more spaced out and less condensed.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
I have developed my team working skills as team work is vital to get the audit completed on time. I have learnt a plethora of new technology skills and how to work efficiently with Microsoft excel. I have also developed my communication skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
My programme is well organised as I know roughly how each year on the programme is going to pan out. I have a rough idea of when I will be in study and working. I think off the job training could be better timed and located for regional offices, however the training events are extremely effective.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive plentiful support from EY. They care for each employee and my developing network is extremely helpful in supporting me through work as well as study.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
My training provider (BPP) is supporting within the guidelines of ICAS. They aim to support as much as possible, however ICAS is strict on their level of support
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
I think my training has provided me with background knowledge and helps me understand the rationale and reasons for doing my role. However, I think the training EY provide better aids my performance in my role
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are many social events through the year for the office as well as for the team. There are also office sport teams.
