Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role involves reaching out to others directly sitting within my time or individuals in EY's wider Supply Chain Services practices and offer to support tasks. As well as this, I would be assigned projects to work on to support my studies.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy my programme as not only is it a huge opportunity for someone my age, but also I feel as though I can be myself when working at EY.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learned to use many different tools and sites as well as improve my skills when it comes to using Microsoft applications, as well as improving on my communication, note-taking, and listening skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
As I am one of the first apprentices in EY's Supply Chain Services, I would say the programme is quite disorganized, which is a shame.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
I receive a lot of support when it comes to getting time to spend revising for exams, as well as support during projects.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
I receive a decent amount of support from my training provider as I am under 19; I receive a couple extra sessions to support my revision before some of the exams, however I do feel as though more could be done.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
To some extent, my studies have helped me perform better in my role, but overall, what I am learning does not line up with the work I do (study focuses more on direct procurement instead of indirect).
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are many activities and events to get involved in. In particular, I have really appreciated when things have been set up in the office.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend EY to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Being able to gain professional qualifications and having the opportunity to work at a big 4 firm is a huge privilege, and apprenticeships like this should at least be considered before moving on to University.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
Make sure to prepare as much as you can at each stage.
