Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
2/5
Work on audits. Do more basic admin work.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
1/5
It’s not been the best years of my life. Under very high pressure and haven’t felt very supported or appreciated always.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
2/5
Working in a pressured environment. Dealing with overloads of work. Having to time manage your workload.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
It’s been alright. Scheduling at work isn’t always great and I’ve had to work on multiple occasions on the days leading up to exams or when I am supposed to have days off for coursework.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
1/5
They give time off to study, but it’s a very short time period as they want us back working as soon as possible.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
The teaching was generally good. The marking of mocks and other tests leading up to the exams need to be improved as there were times I only received feedback a day or two before my final exam.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Quite well. It is an accounting related role so learning about the field is helpful.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes there are multiple events for different things held at work.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend EY to a friend?
No
Why?
For the experience and name on your cv, I would definitely recommend EY. However for your mental health and personal life it isn’t the best place to work.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
Be prepared to sacrifice a lot.
