Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Working as part of an audit team on a day to day basis. I perform general tasks involved with the relevant stage of the audit.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
Not massively, however, I hope that once I progress and improve and am given more responsibility I will enjoy it more as at the moment I am given the menial, easy tasks.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
My knowledge and understand of the Financial world as well as more specifically what goes on behind the scenes in an audit has grown exponentially. My soft skills have also developed, working as part of a team and interacting with clients.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
It is well organised with plenty of support on offer for those who require it. Everything runs smoothly in regards to doing college and work with everything organised for you.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I personally don`t really utilise it but there is plenty of support on a general well being level. In regards to day to day, there is a lot of support with many people on hand who are all very open and willing to give advice and answer questions.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Everyone has been through this process so are sympathetic towards your needs. They organise everything for you in advance in regards to college bookings and attendance.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
So far it has provided a solid foundation of understanding of the Assurance/Audit process and allows me to add context to the day to day tasks which i perform which can be hard to see as part of the picture of the audit.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There are plenty advertised, in honesty i dont really choose to get involved in them but they exist if you would like.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend EY to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I have felt like it has been a good head start on my career in a supportive enviroment. The general atmosphere is very warm and welcoming despite it being such a huge firm which i think is a really important balance to strike.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
I would suggest researching the companies values and being familiar with them. Keep them in mind through out your interview process as EY are a frim that prides itself on its values.
