Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Doing basic audit tasks, being able to take part in calls with clients. Speaking to clients and gaining evidence. Doing stock count observations. Allowed to give tasks a go on my own. Constant manager support.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
So far it has been really enjoyable. We are given tasks to do on our own, but before we do them a more senior member of staff covers what to do in detail, making sure we know what to do and can learn a lot everyday. Mixture of tasks given and definitely feel both supported and trusted. Everyone is really helpful and friendly.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Definitely improving my excel skills, and work on a daily basis helps develop the knowledge we gained from our time in college.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme is really well structured and organised. Key points of contact are clear and accessible. We can always find out information about what parts of our apprenticeship are coming up and what we will be doing when. All members of staff know the programme, many of them did it themselves, so everyone is helpful and knows exactly how to cater to us as apprentices.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
EY could not be better at being supportive of us. Constant contact and information is given to us, we have a support system within the company, being buddied up with someone one year ahead of us on the programme, and having a more senior member of staff as our counsellor.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
They give us plenty of time for study leave, are understanding of any extenuating issues. They expect good results, but this is understandable when considering the support they provide.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The qualification is definitely needed for the day to day role. If we hadnt started in college before beginning our daily jobs, we would have had no idea about anything. It has been helpful to have been sent to college to get the basics learnt and some of the exams out of the way before starting so we at least have some background knowledge .
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are a variety of social clubs, sports teams, communities etc that you can join at EY. Teams also throw regular social events in the office after a work day as a chance for the team to get together. Multiple christmas parties (one for the whole office as well as for the team you work on) and summer parties too.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend EY to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Overall I think the whole programme is very well executed, and very student centric. EY are a company that really value their people and this shows. Everyone you meet seems really happy to be here, and many of the senior members of staff have been with the company for their entire careers, which shows how much potential their is for growth and job satisfaction with this company.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
Do plenty of research about the company and incentives like EY Ripple for example. They are big on helping the community and they will value you also having and supporting such goals. Make sure you understand the company and its values and be able to show how these values align with your own!
