Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Every day is pretty different. It depends on the where we are at for each engagement for clients. One day you could be doing planning, another day you could be filling out work books
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I think it’s a pretty good opportunity. There’s a lot of teaching moments and a lot of independent moments. There’s a balance between studying and working so that’s pretty nice.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
For sure! Entering the working world has meant developing my social skills, learning how to communicate with seniors/managers at a high level. In addition, it’s been great in stepping your foot into work

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
Pretty well. As mentioned prior, there’s a a balance and those in senior positions are understanding when the work load is too much or if you want to focus on studies for a while.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
They are very understanding and look to ensure we know who to reach out to in times of need/help
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
A lot! They are available pretty much most of the time in the lead up to exams and while studying for the exam
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Having an understanding behind what we do and why helps me to do my job to a better level. It allows me to fill in the gaps and grasp concepts which aren’t so easy if you don’t have a background in it
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
there’s quite a few professional networking events! It’s up to you to join or even create a new one

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
