Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Series of presentations on IB, finance and the divisions within the bank as well as q&a sessions. There were also team building and opportunities for presentation and pitching ourselves.
The day started at 0845 generally and ended at 1700. One of the days had a drinking networking at the end of the day so ended slightly later.
There were some breaks throughout the day and an hour for the lunch which was provided.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was very insightful to be able to speak with members of the company at all levels, from graduate to ED. This broad spread gives a good understanding of career prospects and what to expect when you enter the firm all the way through your career up to ED

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
There was a large focus on networking and developing communication skills and confidence when talking to seniors and asking questions. Also presentation skills and public speaking skills were developed.
We were also given courses on softskills by an external provider dbl in which we learnt about effective teamwork and networking

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Very friendly. Anyone would give up their time to talk and explain concepts. The employees were honest and felt very genuine in conversations and their experiences at the firm

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
It was a very valuable experience, networking and discovering which business area suited and interested me most. Learning about this in person and first-hand is incomparable to online learning or reading.
