Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role within the Field Risk Team at SJP requires me to support the Risk Consultants in my area as well as those in the wider team across all locations, in any way that I can. I take on new tasks and responsibilities from those around me, allowing them to refocus and prioritise.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have really enjoyed my experience with the SJP apprenticeship programme. My onboarding process was made as comfortable as possible, and my team since couldn't have been more welcoming and supportive through my settling in here.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Since starting SJP, I have become familiar with new platforms and processes that I haven't come across before, and have been able to build on these skills to feel confident with them and use them independently in my day-to-day tasks. I have also developed my social skills and team working, as I get to know those around me.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Through my experience with the SJP apprenticeship programme, I have felt well-informed and comfortable throughout, while being able to ask any questions and seek help easily from the Early Careers and Onboarding team. They made us all feel at ease through the process, and kept in touch with us to make sure we had all information and resources necessary.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My Line Manager within SJP has been massively supportive to me while joining the team, and has made a huge effort to make sure I have been welcomed and looked after. I have been to many socials with my team, providing an opportunity to get to know everyone and build relationships, as well as having weekly meetings with my Line Manager to discuss any issues or concerns and ask any questions I may have.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

With Davies, I have frequent contact with my coach regarding my progress within the programme and I can contact him to ask any questions at anytime should I wish to. I feel supported and comfortable within my apprenticeship and feel I have the help and resources to progress and complete my programme.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My training regarding my qualifications goes hand in hand with my individual role, as it helps to build on and improve my knowledge of the industry around me as well as giving insight on the regulators my company is subject to, and the expectations in our market.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I have personally attended many different social events with my Manchester team, and have had the opportunity to travel down to Cirencester (Head Office) to attend events with my other apprentices that work there. The Charitable Foundation also holds many different event throughout the year that everyone is welcome to get involved with and participate in.

In my personal experience, SJP has been massively supportive and welcoming, and have gone out of their way to make us apprentices feel comfortable when joining the company. They have made sure we have the right resources and know who to go to if we need any help or further support.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to St. James's Place?
I would advise anyone applying to SJP to be excited and confident dealing with this company, as it is full of great opportunities, and I couldn't have asked for more from them during my onboarding process and journey here.
