Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
We undertook three day training and then were placed on a desk where we were working with our team, attending meetings and shadowing them. We were also given e-learning modules and got to complete a presentation around our desk.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was really useful to learn about the difference between product and sector teams and where your skill set is best suited when choosing the desk you think you would want to work on.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The culture was great, everyone was so friendly and there are drinks on the Terrace every Thursday, allowing you to meet so many different people. Their diversity team is so passionate and works so hard on so many different initiatives.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I really enjoyed the insight, my desk were so friendly and the recruitment team are so welcoming and are always there if you have any worries. It really did surpass my expectations of a spring insight programme. I would love to come back for the internship next summer!

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Nomura
I would say to make sure to research the firm beforehand and know some of the key cultures at the firm and prepare well for the networking opportunities, make sure you have some good questions to ask and have an intro to yourself ready.
