Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Day 1- in-person networking at the Canary Wharf office, introduction to the firm, staff and capabilities and finally an introduction to the fintech group project.
Day 2- group presentation with feedback from partners, Q&A with current staff in your applied division where you gain insight into what they do on a daily basis.
Day 3- wellbeing session and introduction to python 3 followed by the launchpad assessment centre

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was very engaging in the way that the sessions were ran as all the speakers spoke well and had a lot enthusiasm about their work.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I was able to develop my skills in python as I have recently been trying to learn it via online courses, but this gave me a tangible project. Additionally, it was nice to be able to network in person and I feel like this allowed me to gain insight into what it would be like to work there.

How would you rate business leader involvement during the insight

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The staff are very welcoming and friendly in comparison to some other firms and the atmosphere at the office had an ambience of warmth with regards to the demeanour of staff that I interacted with. The partners and senior managers did not seem scary or unfriendly which was amazing

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I really enjoyed everything about it. KPMG has made commitment to diversity which they are keeping to. This has resulted in a culture which seems really inclusive and is apparent in the company culture which has zero tolerance towards people who do not align with their values.
