Overall Rating

3.3 /5

The Overall Rating is the average of all the ratings given in each category. We take those individual ratings and combine them into one final score!

2.5/5 - Overview of Role
4/5 - Skills Development
3/5 - Structure and Support

Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Day to day you will be performing work over clients accounts. As a junior staff member this may be checking invoices. or performing work over expenses/payroll areas. the complexity of your day to day gradually increases as you work through your exams and gain more experience
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
2/5
This is slightly more complex as the nature of audit is client based. Therefore where you may be with one team and really enjoy it, you could be on a different client with a completely different team the next and not click as well with them.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
As this is an apprenticeship you sit exams consistently so are always developing new knowledge and skills

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
The programme is pretty well structured however it can be hard talking to the learning team if you need to deviate at all from the syllabus or ask questions. there does seem to be a lack of communication between the tutors (BPP) and the KPMG learning team.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
3/5
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Obviously the qualifications are pretty well linked to your daily role and therefore they do really help you in your day to day roll with that basic accounting knowledge that underpins most of what we do.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
Again this is pretty department/ team dependent. I personally sit in a department that is more regional so there tends to be less social activities in my specific department. there definitely are networking events that are open firm wide. there are also multiple networks that organise activities.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend KPMG to a friend?
Yes
Why?
While it can definitely be mentally challenging working and studying full time the opportunities that you will get if and when you decide to leave are really good.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to KPMG?
my advice would be to try to enjoy you r time there as much as possible and understand that even when it gets hard the qualifications/experience you gain are great.
