Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

As a solutions engineer i look at company business problems and show how our products can help that particular company. This involves building demos to present to customers alongside collaborating with other colleagues. I also spend time training and up-skilling myself on solutions my company provides.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy the programme. Its not as traditional as university, i have the ability to network with people from various backgrounds and travel alongside earning a degree that is full funded providing me with extra tools to set myself apart.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed my presentation and communication skills as my job role is customer-facing as well as technical. I have also learnt the art of storytelling which is a huge aspect within salesforce involving creating a story that is relevant to your customer.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Its structured well with spending 6 weeks at work and 1 week at university making it easier to balance and do coursework that having to go to university once every week.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a lot of support from Salesforce as we have multiple we can go to if we have any concerns related to work or university. If its with a lack of knowledge or experience you have the ability to get trained and take certifications to help with knowledge.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

There is some support in place by in terms of channels to raise questions about assigned work and having a learning coach however responses can be slow.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It helps with knowing more about project management and SDLC which is extremely helpful when working and managing customer related tasks. However there are some aspects that don't relate to the job role but its a chance to build skills and get more experience

Yes the are a wide range of activities to join from Equality groups like Boldforce, Voluntering opportunities like solution football matches, cooking class and heritage months. Salesforce also organises a number of events that also you to expand your network

Why?
It's a friendly and fun environment. Everyone is willing to help you no matter what it is from shadowing to watching dry runs of demos. The people at Salesforce are what make it. Salesforce encourages you to have a great work-life balance and managers reiterate that to us.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Salesforce?
Be authentic to who you are. To stand out you need to know what sets you apart and your strengths. It doesn't matter if your an introvert or an extrovert. Be excited to learn more about what Salesforce does, collaborate with people and build your network.
