Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Overseeing account opening, closure and maintenance. Working on reconciliations, ensuring the each account is set up correctly. Leasing with the agent bank if there are any issues. Working on projects such as account migrations when necessary.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
The program is good. I do enjoy it. However sometimes working alongside university can seem too much. A day is dedicated to university in the working week, however additional time is needed for the course. Overall, it is a great way to get first hand experience and money whilst getting a degree.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt how an account is opened, and the entire account lifecycle. I have learnt Excel skills including Excel VBA. I have been able to work and manage projects within my team.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The course is well structured. Certain parts of the degree can overlap, causing deadlines to come at similar times for large pieces of work. Other than this, the course is ran well.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Everyone at UBS is very supportive and always happy to help. The community is great.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
I receive support through lectures and masterclasses. Additional help is always available through email or potential small zoom calls. Everyone is always happy to help.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
My current role is not relevant to the degree I am doing. However, other areas in the bank refer to the content very often. Learning other skills like time management and communication through out the degree have helped.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are plenty of networks and groups to join including sports teams. Volunteering events are always encouraged.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend UBS to a friend?
Yes
Why?
UBS provides lots of support with everything. Everyone at UBS is very friendly and happy to help. Taking the time to teach you new things. Getting a degree at the same time as working will allow you to get years of work experience with a qualification. The course, although intense, is very beneficial to those in the relevant roles and will be a large help.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to UBS?
Research the company before going for an interview.
Have other work experiences on your CV.
Show who you are as a person in the interview, as they are interested in who they will potentially work with.
