Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I work with the equity analysts within the department to help develop and enhance their research thesis, on a day to day basis this includes, collating data sets and performing computational analysis to provide insights, which the analysts then use to support their report writing and their discussions with clients.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

A degree apprenticeship in investment banking offers a unique combination of academic learning and practical experience. It's an excellent opportunity to gain industry-specific skills and knowledge while earning a degree. The fast-paced nature of the industry keeps me engaged, and I enjoy working on challenging projects alongside experienced professionals.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have been able to partake in several courses over the period of my induction, one of these being the investment analyst program (IAP), this included in introduction to the use of Excel in the financial world as well as how to build discounted cash flow models for a company

My degree apprenticeship in investment banking is well organised and structured, with a clear plan for learning and development. The curriculum is designed to align with industry needs, and the course material is presented in a logical and sequential manner. Regular assessments and feedback sessions ensure that I stay on track and make progress towards my goals.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive high levels of support from my employer on my degree apprenticeship in investment banking. My line manager and colleagues are always available to answer my questions, provide guidance and mentorship, and offer feedback on my work. They also provide regular opportunities for me to learn from experienced professionals in the department.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive significant support from my training provider when working towards my qualifications. They offer a range of resources and learning materials, including online lectures, tutorials, and study guides, that are accessible 24/7. Their dedicated tutors are also available to answer my queries and provide feedback on my progress, ensuring that I stay on track and meet my learning goals.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification through my training provider has helped me to perform better in my role in several ways. It has provided me with a solid understanding of the concepts and principles underpinning my industry, enabling me to make informed decisions and contribute to discussions more confidently. It has also helped me to develop new skills and knowledge that I can apply to my work, such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

As an investment banking degree apprentice, there are several extra-curricular activities available to enhance my learning experience. These include attending networking events, participating in industry seminars, and joining industry associations. These activities provide valuable opportunities to meet other professionals, learn about new developments in the industry, and develop my skills and knowledge beyond the classroom. As well as sporting opportunities such as 5 a side football and running events.
