Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I currently work in the Evidence Lab team within Global Research, joining meetings to discuss project requirements. I add these requirements to our teams projects board and monitor them on a daily basis, updating when necessary. I also categorize these requirements into particular parts of the project.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy this programme, as it has given me the opportunity to increase my financial knowledge at university and apply this in a working environment. My team our also really supportive and are always teaching me new things and explaining projects when I have questions.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Presentation skills- I have made presentations for my line manager and received constructive feedback.
Financial knowledge- through completing the university modules.
Networking skills- I've had the opportunity to attend many networking events.
IT skills- My excel skills have improved and I have learnt how to use GitLab.

Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

This programme is structured very well. We have one day a week to complete our university work and attend lectures. The other 4 days are spent in the office. My mentor also has meetings with my line manager to ensure I am covering everything I need to for the apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My Employer provides lots of support. We have quarterly check-ins with the scholar team and my line manager is always happy to help. UBS also has an apprentice network that provides training sessions and networking events which I find very helpful.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
The university provides lectures to cover all the content for our qualifications. The lecturers are always happy to set up calls or answer emails if you have any questions. My academic mentor also supports me in completing my portfolio and helps me set deadlines to stay on top of work.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The knowledge from my qualification has helped give me a wider understanding of my role and team and how it helps the bank gain revenue. It has also taught me about the risks within the bank, and how my daily tasks could affect the bank if not carried out correctly.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There have been many networking events I have been able to attend since joining the bank. This includes, talks from networking groups, team events, going to the building rooftop and networking lunches.

Why?
I have really enjoyed working at UBS so far. Everyone has been extremely nice and helpful, welcoming me into the company. I have met lots of great people and really enjoy the programme, being able to get a degree whilst working.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to UBS?
Research the bank and your department before your interviews so you have a brief understanding of what they do. Think about what you have done in the past and how it can link to UBS' pillars and behaviors.
