Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Four days a week I am working in the rework areas, fixing cars and focusing on the electrical elements to enhance my degree, occasionally I am on placements in other areas to experience the wider company.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
The work side of things is great, I enjoy going to work each day and working with a great team, however the university side of things is significantly less enjoyable. The university seems very poorly organised which can prove very stressful as issues and queries can go unanswered, and this means coursework that could be nicely split over the year ends up all being due at once.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt plenty of new skills in many areas like how a modern vehicle is engineered and produced using up to date processes and technology, but it has also allowed me to improve my pre-existing people skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The work side of things is great as I am actively encouraged and supported to look for placements that are applicable for my degree and skillset, however the university is very disorganised as mentioned previously.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer is great, giving me time and support whenever I need it in order to ensure that my uni deadlines are completed on time and to a high standard.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
The support from the university is very poor and is very much on a case by case basis. Some lecturers can provide good support whereas others are unhelpful or purely unresponsive. It is very disorganised and many things are done last minute that adds unnecessary stress.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
Currently, it is fairly helpful as I need a lot of the electrical principles that are covered in university.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
Yes, there are plenty of opportunities, however I do not take part in them.
