Lean manufacturing apprentice Review

My role involves shadowing different job roles around the plant, currently in the planning department. I take on projects such as to make improvements to certain areas, ordering new and improved items and JIGs for areas, making changes to the processes to make them more efficient, and implementing quality solutions.

Personally i find my apprenticeship to be pretty well structured but this is because i have supportive managers and placement mentors who have guided me and helped me to sort out the best placements for my future aspirations. i fell like if i wasn't so proactive i would find the programme to be quite unorganised

I receive a lot of support from the managers and they are mostly available if i feel that i need help with anything. I have regular catch ups with my department manager where he will guide and mentor me and i feel happy to go to my line manager with any issues i have inside or outside of work

I receive so much support from my trainer provider he is always very understanding and explains things in a very easy and clear way. He is very flexible to make our lives easier and with very understanding and aware or the roles and responsibilities we have at work and in our personal lives

My qualification is very relevant to my job role however i wouldnt say it helps me perform better as alot of the work we do is independent work based on our personal experiences at work. The practical side of our qualification is interesting and builds skills that are useful but they not necessarily skills i will use at work

Yes

I think working at Rolls Royce and can be beneficial for people who have a range of different skills and backgrounds and open new opportunities and make you more aware of jobs and skills you may not have previously considered. It is also fun and interesting and helps alot with self development
