Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

The weekly schedule for our working week: Mondays we are sent to plant to carry out jobs assigned by our employers when we first joined. On Tuesdays, we do the same thing. Wednesdays and Thursdays we go to the college to fulfil the coursework of the apprenticeship and craft skills. On Fridays, we go back to plant.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy the days at college more than than my time at the plant mainly as it is less stressful.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

In doing this apprenticeship, I have learned a lot about manufacturing, optimisation of processes, and practical skills for working on cars. I have also learnt a lot about improving myself for the working world as I was quiet and reserved before but this apprenticeship has boosted my confidence and made me take initiative more.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The organisation has been alright, there have been times where craft skills we were supposed to do were pushed back further into the apprenticeship due to the college not being able to allocate spaces for our course and sometimes there are events and notices that our managers tell us about and they doing provide enough context or information to know where and what we are doing.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

We receive support whenever we ask for it, at times it can be a little slow to hear a response from our manager. We have have an apprentice supporter that checks up on us every couple of weeks to check up on us and our apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

We receive a lot of attention and support from our training providers, they provide as much as you need and are available whenever during working hours, they will remind you of upcoming tasks and deadlines clearly as well which is nice.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My training provider has significantly helped me through my course the entire way through and I am very happy with their support and guidance. they have motivated me to push on through work and enjoy the work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are other activities on the side of work, there is a car building club for schools, they race these cars with electric motors and we provide guidance and instructions whilst the schools make the designs for the cars.

Why?
The skills and experience I have gained from this apprenticeship has definitely been worth my time and energy and i am satisfied with my future with this company.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group UK?
Be prepared for the trip to Skern and try to get interested in the motor industry before you join, additionally you will have to get used to early starts on the days we work at plant.
