Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I start the day by having a teams call, where I carry out a MPOF report whilst being helped and supervised, which is sent out to management later. I then carry our another report which is called a DOS report and manages any materials with less than 5 days of stock. Then I do the daily Gemba walk with CR-T-16, which involves daily cleanliness checks for different departments/processes. Then in the afternoon my jobs varies but typically I get given a task from my manager and shadow some material controllers.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I think the program has been great so far, as the apprenticeship allows me to explore the company and move departments, to find what I like. However I found the first 3 months where we were at college was quite uncoordinated and some of the activities were irrelevant to my job role.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learned the process of using SAP, this is a computer system used to monitor levels of stock, ensure availability of materials, track orders, and coordinate with suppliers. I have also learned lots of business admin skills from college, such as communicating with suppliers and learning more about my business admin.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
Towards the start of the apprenticeship i found the programme was very unorganized as it was the first time doing the start at college and the college seemed unprepared and unorganized, however as the apprenticeship has evolved it has got much more organized and Katy has been good at keeping ontop of things.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Rolls-Royce provides various forms of support to their employees, including training and development opportunities, health and wellness programs, and employee assistance programs. Additionally, employees can reach out to their managers or human resources representatives for support. Also due to the cost of living crisis we have also received very good financial support.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
Chichester college offers a range of support services to their students, including academic advising, counseling, and career services. Additionally, there are many resources available to students online, such as study guides and a personal mentor. If you need help with something specific, you can always reach out to your professor or academic advisor for guidance. You also have full access to use all of Chichester colleges services.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
A business admin qualification is beneficial when working in material control because it can provide you with a strong foundation in business principles and practices, such as communication, time management, and problem-solving skills. These skills can be applied to a variety of roles within material control, such as supply chain management, inventory control, and transportation planning.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes, there is a football 11 aside, which i am currently in the process of joining, there are also apprentice social nights, but I don't attend these yet as I am 16 years old. And there are other netwotking events, such as department nights out and various other activities.
