Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Dealing with client requests that involve the exterior surface of the car. I also engineer and design new features for clients and I try to make sure we have capacity and space to maximise the number of cars we can build.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
Changes have been made to the programme which means there is more opportunity to go on placement and have a change to do something you enjoy.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have increased my CAD and design skills to develop into a design engineer in the future. Lots of opportunity to develop your skills.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
The working side of the apprenticeship is organised and structured but at the university there is not much structure or any information given to us on time.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
From the employer there is lots of support in order to progress through the apprenticeship and also develop the skills you are interested in. If you are struggling then work will provide the support.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
To be honest not much, the university are slow to reply, they do not give feedback on coursework and there is missed information to us.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
Some aspects of the qualification are relevant to my role at work but the majority is not relevant and the CAD modules have helped with what I do at work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Now that the apprenticeship has been structured, there are opportunities to meet up with people, get involved with work tasks and sports teams like football and golf
