Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

The role changes as placements change, but a general day involves emails, planning and organising events for work and charity, uni work and doing meetings and tours within the area. I’m currently on check in, which is obviously just customer experience work in the terminal, until my next placement.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

While there were some sticking points as I am in the first year of the course, there was definitely some very high points - as an apprentice within BA, I have far greater access to exploring potentials than the average person- there’s definitely a lot of options to explore!
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

General professional skills such as meeting and email etiquette, but also subject specific information, which can be quite technical based on the placement. There are often opportunities to undergo courses to qualify in an area and prove an ability, like first aid, facilitation skills, and general familiarisation with a subject.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

As this is the first year the course is being run, there are definitely areas still being ironed out, but there is support for that. Generally, the only areas of difficulty are details, the big picture is very clear
How much support do you receive from your employer?

There is a lot of access to support options and the apprenticeship team is always willing to assist to the best of their ability. Within placements, managers are generally very supportive and give help whenever I need it.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

BNU is definitely making a huge effort to assist us, though with us being part time and quite far from campus, obviously it can be difficult for both of us to properly seek or provide help
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The course has been set up such that generally the placement overlaps with a corresponding course at uni - there have been several instances where I have been able to apply my work within uni to my work at BA.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are a few dozen sports teams and societies, and generally there are emails every few days about engaging opportunities, through charities or company partnerships. There was a BA staff rugby match the other day at either Tottenham or Wembley for charity, for example, so there’s definitely exciting options.
