Overview of the Experience

A work experience day in person involving flight operations at British Airways. We had a head office tour, sim centre visit, a gliding flight and a visit to Heathrow Terminal 5 in a period of 4 days.
To what extent did you enjoy your work experience?
5/5
This was very enjoyable and I learnt a lot about British Airways and what it meant to work for them. Especially since the career I want to pursue is relevant to this topic of work experience.
How well organised was your work experience?
5/5
This experience was well organised and run with the best interests towards the students as the sim was to inspire and teach them about working for British Airways and what it means to be part of the British Airways team.
How much did your work experience help you in deciding on your future career path?

It was extremely helpful in deciding and pursuing my career in aviation.
Were you paid or reimbursed for this experience?
5/5
No, I was not reimbursed for this experience. It was all free.

Skills Development

What training and skills development did you learn from your work experience?
5/5
I gained skills that are useful for British Airways recruitment in order to work for them in the future as well as an insight as to what life is like as a pilot.

Company Culture

How much did you learn about the company culture and what it would be like to work there?
5/5
I was not as aware about the different ways interview questions could be asked and group exercises and how they are relevant in assessments for jobs. So this taught me the British Airways assessment style and techniques used as well as what it’s like to work for them. Especially since we visited the sim centre providing an insight into the life of pilots.
Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees?
5/5
Yes definitely, I met many pilots and cabin crew who gave an insight into British Airways and working at the company.
