Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I was in the Investment Banking Division, in the consumer retail team. During the 10-weeks program, the main activities were:
- Gathering and synthesising financial and operating information about companies, industries and governments.
- Creating and updating financial models.
- Gathering market data to analyse trends and help value and price transactions.
- Drafting presentations and memoranda for a wider audience within the Firm and the financial services industry.
- Attending team discussions and client meetings.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
yes, I was strictly in contact with the CFO and the staff of a company approaching the IPO stage. I was given very much responsibility both on the client's side and the realisation of slides/models.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
I can talk about my team but I feel like everyone is super nice and available for help and clarifications. It is of course a tough job, everyone is very busy and work long hours but they can always find time for you. Also, I was able to develop real relationship and they were there to help me get in.
