I work in a supported living setting with young people between ages 16 - 18 who have challenging behaviour.
On a day to day basis I support the young people in a number of ways to promote independence skills such as cooking and seeking education or employment.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy working through the self study elements as I find that these are focused more on psychological topics which are my main interest.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed a deeper understanding of how to work with children and young people to build positive and meaningful relationships to improve their quality of life.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is very well organised and structured however has since there has been a change to multiple dead line dates for work per month the programme has become less realistic.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a high level of support for my employer, from check ins to talking through anything I am struggling with.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive a high level of support throughout my course. Whenever I have contacted my provider for support, she has given me a clear explanation of what Is required from me and advised on how to achieve this.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel that the course allows you to gain more understanding of the whys and hows.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Currently, these are limited however this is looking to change in the near future with more external activities taking place for the team.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Paragon Skills?
I am unsure on how to answer this as I was enrolled with ParagonSkills via my workplace so I did not experience how to do this independently.
