Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My day to day job is taking the companions to appointments like doctors dentist. I sort the kitchen out and the rota and the food shopping, if they have any queries with anything or any problems, I try and help. We go for walks to get out and lots more.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

My programme is very hard, but I am learning a lot.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

i learn new skills each day but on my course I have been learning about safeguarding which is very important in my job role. I have also learnt about radicalisation and a lot more.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

It is very well organised and structured, my trainer has meetings with me every few weeks about my course and my progress.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive full support from my employer. They are behind me all the way and give me plenty of time to make sure I complete each module I am working on and are there for any help I may need.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I get full support from my trainer. She really does make me feel relaxed and at ease when I am struggling and she is only at the end of the phone when I need help. She explains things thoroughly and is so easy to talk to.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

it is helping me day to day just by learning different ways of doing things and how to approach different situations. It makes you think more about what you say and do and how it affects people.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

We do go out on day trips with the companions, they have been to play football before and golf and we have been bowling, so we do try and do different activities.

Why?
Because they are so helpful and are there every step to help you and reassure you, they definitely put you at ease when you are struggling and do everything they can to keep you going. You really feel supported by them.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Paragon Skills?
I would definitely recommend them. The lady I am working with at Paragon has been amazing and has made me feel so much better when I am struggling.
