Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
Based on where you work, you may be working on the line fixing the faults that occur and maintaining the machines or you could be in the offices behind the scenes to help launch engines or make the line ready for different processes. You still have to go to college to finish off your Level 3 BTECH but it is a nice balance.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I find working in this programme extremely enjoyable as it has allowed me to learn more skills and techniques as well as learn more about how engines are built and the importance of each part. The work always has a challenge so that you can always find something to test and improve yourself.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learned a lot about the software used and how crucial even the smallest of parts can be on the line. I have also learned more mechanical techniques through fixing various components on the line such as the conveyers and motors. In college we have learned more fluid power, CAD modelling and drawing as well as coding arduino boards.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My placement plan is well organised and structured as well as regular meeting to check up on how everything is going and to organise anything for the future based on my preference. In college there have been a few problems but these were dealt with smoothly allowing no change to the way we worked.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
The employer comes in every week to ask us how we are doing and if we have any problems as well as catching us up on the latest news in BMW Group. He has also given us his contact details so if we do have a problem we can call or email him.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
We have loads of support when necessary as well as extra teaching provided if you don't understand the assignment too well. They have been assigning us with tasks and explain them before we start to make sure we have no trouble with them. They accommodate us when plans change so we can still work.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The qualification, when finished, will help me have the skills and knowledge to do my job properly, and especially Health and Safety, this is really important as it will help me keep myself and others safe through the right regulations. It helps me to learn how the job will be like and what problems may occur
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Within each department the teams normally go out every so often to celebrate or just to chill. When you join they make you fell welcome and invite you to these to help make you feel comfortable with the team. There are also events like open houses where families can come and see how and where you work as well as the products of the workplace.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BMW Group UK to a friend?
Yes
Why?
This company is extremely beneficial to anyone who joins as there are many perks to joining, as well as the qualifications you receive at the end of it. The job is almost definite based on your performance in the theory and it gives a lot of room to improve your qualification.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group UK?
Make sure that you research the company and know why you want to join the company, what is your motivation to join. Stay calm in the interviews and make sure that you talk confidently to the team or the interviewer and contribute as much as you sensibly can. Even if you mess up, don't think it is over, because sometimes they are seeing how you react to your mistake to see how good you are under pressure.
