Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
I was taught thoroughly how to use Deloitte's in-house auditing software for one of the firm's larger clients. Alongside this I was also taught some basics on IFRS and IAS and had the opportunity to apply these to my work with the client that I was assigned to.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
The learning process was put together in a fun and engaging way. Wherever there were doubts, Deloitte's intranet site had the answer to all of my questions and how one can solve any issues that they are facing, be that administrative or core-work related.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I learnt many of the accounting standards that Deloitte serves to uphold in the execution of its work with clients.
Moreover, I was taught the Standard Operating Procedures that existed and how they work to ensure that all tasks are completed to a high standard where they can be quickly reviewed by peers working on the same client.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
It was like one big (VERY big) happy family!
The majority of individuals working there have been through the same application and internship process and therefore are more than happy to help with any queries that you may have on the job.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
It was incredibly enjoyable.
The Audit & Assurance sector provides a vital service not only to clients but to the general public by ensuring that firms are legitimate with the handling of internal cash flows. Thus, the insight I gained into the importance of this was extremely interesting and worth the time I spent at Deloitte.
