Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
Daily call with audit team to check in with all members, receiving tasks from line manager and checking out through the day when working on a document.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
I got to know the culture of the company a lot better, including growth opportunities as well as other more senior members and their journey. It was good to see the diversity in those roles especially.

Learned a lot about the tech systems used in auditing, and the numerical/Excel skills needed. A good grasp of financial statements would be incredibly useful.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Deloitte prides itself on having a growth mindset, which includes equality and diversity and sustainability initiatives that I appreciated. Everyone moved very quickly through the ranks so I anticipate learning and gaining experience rapidly as a graduate. Our team was incredibly welcoming, and I appreciated the help from other departments, there is a lot of collaboration involved firmwide.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
The team I was a part of really tried to give us an accommodating and enlightening experience, it was nice to see the inner workings of the job with a lot of explanation and real-time meetings. I think that the company culture made me a lot more excited to join Deloitte in the future, although we hadn't spent a lot of time there. Definitely exceeded my expectations, considering COVID and online working.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Deloitte
Do try to show your personality during the interview, the senior manager is likely to be thinking whether you are a good fit for working at the company rather than how good you actually are at auditing. I would have loved to reach out to more people already in the role before starting there; it really gives you some insight as to what the people would be like.
