Overview of Experience

Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.

The spring week this year took place online due to covid restrictions. Day to day we got the chance to virtually network with Morgan Stanley employees and find out what their role entails. We then spent 2 days in the division of our choice where we got a deeper insight into that role. In the sales and trading division, we played mock trading games which were extremely insightful to get a true feel for the role

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?

Over the week we learnt about all the different roles available at the firm. Morgan Stanley provided an in-depth programme which gave interns the chance to learn about the divisions through having multiple speakers/employees come and talk to our small groups.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I believe I learnt many new skills, especially when it comes to the new virtual environment. The programme taught me to how to approach people and form bonds without being face to face. The insight week also developed my teamwork skills when we played team games based on sales and trading.

How would you rate business leader involvement during the insight

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

I believe that the culture was extremely welcoming and made us feel comfortable being in a virtual environment. All employees were friendly and approachable which created an atmosphere in which I can definitely see my myself working in.
