Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I worked with my team carrying out different operational tasks and dealing with different products. We ensured products were correctly pushed through for customers and ensured any breaks were dealt with efficiently and effectively.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
My internship provided me the opportunity to work with my team and deal directly with customers. This gave me the chance to have great levels of responsibility for my work and allowed me to contribute directly to the team.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
I learned a variety of new soft and hard skills. The greatest growth skills wise I gained however were most definitely in the realm of interpersonal skills. Morgan Stanley provided a great environment to learn and grow through working with colleagues which allowed me to grow in confidence working within a professional workplace.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
Morgan Stanley ensured a seamless transition into the internship and provided numerous session every week to enrich our understanding of the company. My team and manager were also extremely helpful in supporting with my learning throughout the internship and answered any queries I had.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Despite the internship being virtual, Morgan Stanleys friendly and passionate culture and atmosphere shined through. All staff I encountered were more than happy to help with queries and team dynamics were extremely welcoming.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I enjoyed my internship thoroughly and I am extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to have gained an insight into such a great company. The culture, work ethic and values of all employees were very refreshing and welcoming and made the experience highly rewarding

What advice would you give to others applying to Morgan Stanley
I would advise future applicants to network and attend events ran by Morgan Stanley prior to applying. This definitely benefited me as it provided me a greater understanding of the company and its culture. Also, whilst carrying out the internship I would advise talking to sister teams and teams of interest as this helps to gain a wider understanding of the firm.
