Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I get assigned to a new client so I join a new team with an in-charge who explains my new role. I do the asks as I go along and when completed I get assigned more. During exam periods I would also be revising after work hours which aint fun.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I think as time progresses it does get more challenging because you are given more tougher tasks to do which I dont always fully know how to do but you can always ask for help which is nice. But the juggling work and exam is very tough especially since we only get one study leave.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt new communication skills as I get to speak to many more people and client contacts. I also need to practice my time management skills because I have to juggle many tasks and complete it for the deadlines and if i have an exam i also have to find time to revise.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

I feel like the structure could be better because they put the exams so close to each other it doesnt feel like we ever actually get a nice break so would like for that to be a bit changed but i feel like its a fixed period. And busy period feels never ending!
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I do get alot of support. I have my own performance manager who is lovely and I can always go to him for any matter at any time. Also have a performance leader and many more contacts. We also have regular feedback sessions so there is always alot of support about.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

We do get good support from BPP our training provider. There is something called the HUB which has guidances and lots of practice questions. If you need more help then you can always email the BPP support team and ask any questions and they try to respond as soon as possible.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

There has been some cross references of the things i learnt from my qualifications for my work such as understanding terms better like accruals, debits and credits. But i feel majority of what I have learnt hasnt really linked to my work yet which could be because im still on level 4.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There is defo social events that you can participate into. Its just a matter of finding them, they arent always easy to find. Its like word of mouth and then you hear about what societies there are. Also you can go to many social events which you team for one of your clients may host.
Recommendations & Advice
Would you recommend KPMG to a friend?
No
Why?
I feel like KPMG underpays for the work we do. It does not match the level of hours we work too as we dont get paid overtime and rarely ever finish on time. In a sense for an opportunity for a degree apprenticeship Id say go for it but there may be better employers out there.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to KPMG?
Definitely try to not get exploited by others and keep your wellness above anything else. Ask for help when you need to and dont just try to figure out tasks you dont understand. There is always people to speak to around you and make friends! They make you experience fun.
