Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I was part of the deduplication team which essentially looked at all the 'parties', entities or individuals that do/have done business with MS in past, that had ever been created and deleting any duplicate parties from the system. It was essentially clearing out the old system ready for a new system to come into place. I did this everyday, over and over.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
We were deleting things from the system that are very difficult to get back once they are gone so we had to do the job right so not to remove important data- this required responsibility.

I used excel everyday so learned some new things there but didn't learn a great deal of new skills beyond this.

I received lots of support throughout my internship, my manager was great and very helpful. We had catch ups with her every morning.

Company Culture
What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The company culture is great, everyone is very friendly and willing to help you. You could reach out through IM to anyone and they would respond to you. They held lots of events to get to know key employees of MS and to chat with other interns/ grads who were going through the same experiences as you.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I struggled at the beginning as we were all working from home and it was new work that was mundane but as i got to know people and get a more general feel for the organisation I was really enjoying it and I'm now doing a term time internship too!
