Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I am currently seated in the legal tech department and most of my time is spent automating contracts and working on legal technology sites which can be utilised by KPMG Law.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I am enjoying the programme. I have experienced 2 drastically different departments and its been really enjoyable learning from people so far ahead in their careers.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have and am continuing to learn how to automate documents and code. I have had the opportunity to experience up and coming legal technology and work on the development of other legal tools and sites.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
The programme is relatively new so organisation and structure leaves something to be desired. I would want to know in advance what department I will be going in and BPP really needs to work on the organisation of their units and communication with students.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I receive a good amount of support from my employer. My managers in both this department and the previous department were really understanding when it came to doing exams. If I let them know in advance they would always ensure that I did not work overtime.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
BPP has been pretty poor with supporting my training. There's a lack of exam guidance and general support with units. The weekly lectures aren't always the most useful and there's near to no exam practice questions available.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
My qualification has helped me learn more about the law in general. Although I have not been able to apply my training to my work yet I am certain that when I rotate at some point it will come in handy.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
1/5
I sincerely wish there was more extra- curricular and social activities to participate in. Since Christmas I have not participated in any, it's now Spring.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend KPMG to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Although there are sectors to work on, KPMG has been really supportive of my training and I have had some really great experiences and developed useful skills as a result of their programme.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to KPMG?
Focus on talking about the skills you have developed and most recent experiences. It's also good to bring in your extra curricular knowledge of current topics and areas of discussion, keep an eye on the news and interesting articles which you can discuss.
